I nearly died this morning. Was doing about 15 mph, started to slow down for a stop sign that abuts a highway. ABS went into overdrive mode. Eventually my car stopped 10 about feet from imminent doom, poo almost came out.
And all this happened considering my car is equipped with ABS and four Bridgstone Blizzak snow tires still in excellent condition.

Dry, clearly?

30 degrees, snowing hard and already about 4" of snow on top of a layer of freezing rain. Yeah, probably should have stayed home.

Straight up ice would be better, think ice coated with KY jelly.

I had that happen yesterday, the roads were a mess trying to get back to school. Leaving my neighborhood, I started braking and it was just ice the entire time, luckily it was a 3 way stop but i just blew right through bc i couldnt slow down. The trip back to college took an extra 45-50 minutes and I saw 11 cars in the ditch.
Fun times.

Typical anti brake system. At least you could still “turn”.

Yesterday when it was just snow on pavement it was fine. I didn’t have any issues. This morning I was doing second gear starts in a car with 150 HP to not spin my tires too much.
